ACC Survey Shows “Age of CLO” Persists

A survey conducted by the Association of Corporate Counsel suggests that the role of Chief Legal Officer (CLO) continues to expand and grow in importance but their level of seniority in organizations has plateaued, with 64% reporting directly to the CEO in 2018 versus 77% today, and concerns regarding cybersecurity, privacy and regulatory compliance have caused a shift in the priorities of CLOs towards legal ops as their top strategic initiative.
