GoDaddy Obtains Section 230 Immunity Despite Plaintiffs’ “Sympathetic” Claims

The Ninth Circuit has found that Section 230 protections would apply to claims against GoDaddy, which was sued by a non-profit for various claims such as trade libel, libel and state law claims for invasion of privacy, and dismissed claims by Scott Rigsby's charitable foundation that GoDaddy was responsible for the website registered on its domain after a third party took it and the subsequent content used through the site.
