California is currently proposing a new rule that would require attorneys to file a complaint with the state bar against another attorney if they have credible evidence of misconduct potentially raising a substantial question as to the attorney’s honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as an attorney in other respects, however, some federal judges have recommended that law schools tell employers if law students participate in protests that disrupt speakers on campus, which raises concern about the harm such snitching rules could cause to innocent people who have different points of view.
